She and the Unicorn

She: Bold, Unicorn: Italic

Long ago I saw a Unicorn
With a glance a love was born
When I was at my hidden lake
Feelings inside me became awake
Who are you stranger define yourself?
A horse, a lion, or a large wild elf?!
Aristotle and other great men introduced me
In their books and arts often reproduced me

My people spoke of you as a myth
A beast with no sons, wife or kith
I’m real my angel and can love you
Don’t tell anyone and love me too
Run to me my beautiful beast
No one knows even my priest

I can’t appear or speak to any human
They’d fight me thinking I’m a demon

But I want to hide between your arms
Feel protected by your magic charms

Could I be in your world exposed
when all my songs are opposed?
One day of our love we should speak
Face the tornado and cross the creek

In the battles I fight to win
I’ve got a lion heart and goatskin
You could argue and win the jury
Show them the truth their sight is blurry

Would you not be sad when I hurt your people?
My horn is poisonous and sharp as a needle
Could you when all you want is peace,
when your heart from loving never cease?
Unicorns are born to spread freedom
Unite the nations and build the kingdom

Tell me more I need to hear
Help me darling slay my fear
End of days to us are true and clear
A unicorn by birth is wise and seer
That’s why I love you my secret friend
Promise me glory and our love you defend

Sooner or later victory will come
This much I know that’s why I’m numb

Shall I cry when you’re for the truth dead?
Shall I wait in fever in my sickbed?
When I die bury me in my secret garden
Meet me in heaven in your white satin
